The Top 5 Viral Moments In Customer Service From 2019

In a world often filled with chaos and negativity, people love to share positive, uplifting stories. Stories of people caring for others and showing great customer service often go viral. These great acts aren’t performed by employees looking to make it big on the internet, but by people who genuinely care about customers and want to make their lives easier and happier. Here are five stories of great customer service and caring that have gone viral in 2019. In honor of customer service week, these stories highlight the need to go above and beyond to connect with and serve customers, even in times of need.

Trader Joe’s Employees Dance To Cheer Child

Any mother knows the stress of having a crying child in the grocery store. When a toddler started having a meltdown in the checkout line, Trader Joe’s employees jumped in to make the boy smile. They spontaneously started singing and dancing together, while still checking out and bagging groceries. The toddler was so surprised that he stopped crying, and shoppers throughout the store also enjoyed the performance. A video of the performance was shared on Instagram and Facebook and viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

Chick-Fil-A Employee Saves Customer’s Life

Customer service involves paying attention to customers and noticing when things don’t seem right. That’s exactly what one Chick-fil-A employee in California did earlier this year when he noticed a customer acting strangely in the parking lot from his position in the drive-through window. The man was on the ground going into cardiac arrest when the employee named Tauya performed chest compressions and directed others to call 911. The man survived, and many credit Tauya’s observation and quick action for saving his life. The story went viral on Facebook, where thousands of people shared positive thoughts and feedback.

CFA Hero! Last week while working the drive thru at Chick-Fil-A, our team lead Tauya Nenguke, noticed something suspicious going on across the parking lot. He handed his iPad for orders to one on his co-workers and sprinted across the parking lot to find a man down with his scared friends frantically not knowing what to do.

Tauya immediately took over the situation and started chest compressions on the unresponsive young man before having someone call 911. The man survived and was later taken by paramedics. The EMT stated that if it wasn’t for his quick action, this young man might not have survived.

Tauya has made us proud for his quick action and willingness to help someone who had a need and says the incident was confirmation of his calling to become a RN!
